On Friday the 1st July around 100 of us descended on Neston Memorial Hall for a very memorable evening – a tasty barbecue, presentation of the medals and trophies won at the recent Club Sprints and even a game of rounders in the summer sunshine. Our surprise guest of honour was Stephanie Millward, taking a short break from her training for the Rio Paralympics. She explained how she had started her swimming career at our club, and how anything is possible if you are prepared to work hard. Stephanie also helped with the presentations and showed our swimmers some of her many medals and her Olympic torch – truly inspiring.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success, especially the catering team and those who helped set up and clear away – it would not have been possible without you.
