Corsham Swimming Club numbers over 300 members and is run entirely by volunteers.
Our Annual General Meeting is mandatory and ensures our club continues to function and thrive. Please consider taking time to attend, not least to show your support for all our wonderful, dedicated coaches and “back room” staff.
The AGM is essential as this is when we vote in our Executive Committee and ratify our Club Constitution (Club Rules). It is your opportunity to hear brief reports from the Treasurer, Head Coach and Chair and to ask any questions you have about the running of the club.
Most of the Executive Committee are happy to stand for re-election for a further year, if necessary, however, some are stepping down after playing their part. Without an Executive Committee the Club cannot continue. Maybe you could consider one of the following roles briefly outlined below:
Secretary
Act as the point of e mail contact for County and Regional ASA and forward on messages to the appropriate personnel. Take the minutes and send out an agenda for the Executive Committee meetings (4-6 times a year).
Assistant Secretary
Stand in for and assist the Secretary as required.
Vice Chair
Attend Executive Committee meetings and standing in for the Chair if necessary.
Masters Representative
Attend Executive Committee meetings. Represent the views of the Masters swimmers and report back on their training and achievements.
Swim Mark Coordinator
Attend Executive Committee meetings. Maintain the club personnel record and be familiar with and monitor progress of the Club’s development plan. Prepare and coordinate documents for the Swim Mark health check in 2019 (Full renewal of Swim Mark accreditation was achieved in September this year).
Even if you cannot commit to one of the roles above we would love to welcome you to the meeting which should last around half an hour. Please come along – we need you there.
